Most likely they are empty and zero-byte. Leave them alone. I am not positive, but I believe that on my machine they may be used by Acronis for storage of GUID's. It's a strange and unusual method, but they take up no space, so never remove anything you are not sure of.
You should have a complete backup of your entire system so you don't lose everything when the hard drive fails. There are many good, free programs for that. All you need to supply is the place to store the backups.
