Strange Issue. Desktop icons gone and old taskbar style

If you did not pay for and receive a genuine copy of the Windows 7 DVD and the product key then it is highly likely the copy you have is not genuine. That being the case I suspect you have a volume licence installed which is not legal unless your PC is owned by the company that paid for the volume licence.

I must ask you to run this scan below to check the installed licence on your system.

  • To run the tool, click on this link: MGADiag
  • In the File Download - Security Warning dialog box, click Run.
  • In the Internet Explorer - Security Warning dialog box, click Run.
  • In the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool dialog box, click Continue.
  • When the MGADIAG tool finishes, ensure it is displaying the information under the Windows tab and click Copy.
  • Come back to this thread and right click on the message box and select Paste from the pop up menu and the results will appear, then submit the message.
