My Default Skin Bitmap is gone.

Are you using a 3rd party windows skinning program like Windows Blinds ?

My first thought is on disk corruption or bad sectors. Right click on drive C, choose Properties, Tools tab, and click Check now.You then reboot to let the check proceed.
