Text too light

Hi The text on my HP lap top screen is too light to see. I have Windows 7. I tried to change the color of the text and the size by right clicking on the desktop for preferences. Not all of the text is light... Just seems to be the text I want to read. :confused: By the way the text on this page is dark and easy to read.
