I've actually traced the problem to Microsoft Office 2010 and the Language Preferences. I navigated to Start>All Programs>Microsoft Office>Microsoft Office tools>Microsoft Office Tools 2010 Language Settings and removed the unwanted languages from there. It seems whenever MS Office is used it automatically adds the active languages. If you have any other MS Office applications installed, e.g. MS Office Frontpage 2003, as I have, you will have to tweak the language preferences there, as well. Wish you success...
