emachine E732Z

Hi guys.Please excuse my ignorance before I ask my question.

~I have an emachine E732Z.Windows 7

I have a problem opening the screen.

Every time I push the On button the 2 blue lights come on and then 1 goes out.The machine will not open.

I thought it would possibly be the battery.Replaced battery and charger.The light for the charging remains blue,which I assume means battery fully charge.
