I have recently been having a bit of trouble when starting Windows 7 Home Premium, in that perhaps four times out of ten, it does not start, and the hourglass just continues to run with nothing else occurring. At that point I do a manual switch off, and then start again, using the "Start Windows Normally" option. Someone suggested that I run a Windows Repair, which I did, but now, instead of opening straight to my desktop, I get a screen which asks me to choose either "Windows 7", or "Windows 7 Home Premium". If I choose "Windows 7", it starts correctly, but it does not if I choose the "Home Premium" one. So my question is why has it started showing these options, when previously it went direct to my desktop, and how can I get it back to doing just that? (I realise that it is no great hassle to click on the "Windows 7" option, but just wondered why I am now obliged to choose it).
